Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for driving business growth and innovation? The St. Maarten
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (COCI) is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Officer to join our team and play a key role in advancing the economic prosperity of St.
Maarten. <\/p>

Position:<\/strong> Business Development Officer
Location:<\/strong> Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Responsibilities:<\/strong>
\u2022 Develop and implement strategies to promote business growth and expansion in St. Maarten, in collaboration with stakeholders and partners.
\u2022 Identify new business opportunities and investment prospects, conducting market research and analysis to assess feasibility and potential impact.
\u2022 Cultivate relationships with local businesses, entrepreneurs, investors, and industry associations to facilitate networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing.
\u2022 Provide advisory support and guidance to businesses seeking to start, scale, or relocate to St. Maarten, including assistance with regulatory compliance, financing options, and market entry strategies.
\u2022 Coordinate workshops, seminars, and networking events to foster entrepreneurship, innovation,
and professional development within the business community.
\u2022 Monitor economic trends, policy developments, and industry dynamics to identify emerging
opportunities and challenges for St. Maarten’s business sector.
\u2022 Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders
on business development initiatives and outcomes.<\/p>


Qualifications:<\/strong>
\u2022 Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, marketing, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
\u2022 Proven experience in business development, sales, marketing, or related roles, with a track record of achieving targets and driving results.
\u2022 Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
\u2022 Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively, anticipate market opportunities, and develop innovative solutions.
\u2022 Knowledge of St. Maarten’s business environment, regulatory framework, and industry sectors is an advantage.

Position:<\/strong> Economist
Location<\/strong>: Philipsburg, St. Maarten <\/p>

Responsibilities:<\/strong>
\u2022 Conduct economic research and analysis on local, regional, and global trends affecting St. Maarten’s economy, including GDP growth, employment rates, inflation, and industry performance.
\u2022 Monitor key indicators and data sources to assess the health of St. Maarten’s economy and identify opportunities and risks for businesses and entrepreneurs.
\u2022 Prepare economic forecasts, reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders, government agencies, and the broader community, providing actionable insights and recommendations.

\u2022 Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in statistical analysis software and econometric modeling techniques.<\/p>
